Design Rooted in Respect for the Future

At Formosus Home, sustainability is not an afterthought; it is the foundation of our design process. We believe that by producing less, we give future generations more – more resources, more forests and more opportunities to experience the beauty of nature.

We refuse to exploit the environment for the sake of speed. We operate on a made-to-order basis, holding zero inventory to eliminate the waste inherent in mass production. Our pieces are crafted from solid wood sourced from FSC-certified forests, paired with natural materials like rattan, paper cord, wool and cotton.

In a throwaway culture, we design for longevity. Because we use solid wood, our furniture is inherently repairable. It can be disassembled, reglued, resanded and refinished, allowing it to evolve with its owner. Our goal is to make repair so feasible that recycling becomes a distant last resort.

This mindset extends to our operations. From minimizing plastic usage to designing reusable exhibition stalls that avoid single-time waste, we tread lightly. Finally, to ensure the cycle continues, we commit to planting two trees for every product sold, replenishing the forests that make our craft possible.
